Dr. Araya who speaks 5 languages, has training from the top Surgical Programs at the University of California-San Francisco (rated top 2 schools in the US), and has graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and Michigan State University, Michigan. Dr. Araya is one of the few cosmetic surgeons to serve as a Civil Surgeon to the US Department of Homeland security.

Dr. Araya provides continous support and housing to 7 children with their families in Africa whose lives were disrupted due to war. Dr. Araya has provided funds to churches in Africa to produce 33 children folk songs which was the first in its kind. Dr. Araya as an avid aviator has supported aviation training and donated computers to poor African boys and girls. As an educator, Dr. Araya was part of the first medical school to ever open in Eritrea and he has continued to provide valuable support to the medical school and medical students.

Dr. Araya's generosity and philanthropy is not only in Africa but he aids single parents with minor children obtain housing in Washington, DC. He also provides scholarships to children from disadvantaged families to attend private k-12 schools in Washington, DC, Virginia and Maryland.
